Principal Designer (CDM 2015)

The introduction of a Principal Designer is intended to provide the project with a person or organisation to monitor the pre-construction phase of a project. The duties of the old CDM Coordinator will be the responsibility of the Principal Designer. These duties can be complied with using the assistance of a third party. At Head Projects we will be using the title of (Design & Construction) Health & Safety Manager. We can perform our previous services and in addition provide a greater input to the construction stage of a project.

Early Identification

Head Projects provides project specific advice and services. We have a structured and comprehensive risk management system, which facilitates the early identification and assessment of the design risks during the design process. This process involves pro- active involvement by Head Projects by attendance at design team meetings and face to face dialogue.

Risk Modelling 

We use a range of tools and processes from simple and effective design risk registers, design risk management workshops and early warning systems to sophisticated risk modelling software to provide you with the best advice to help develop risk responses and plans to eliminate or mitigate the risks on your project or within your existing building.

Extensive Experience

As part of a multi-disciplined practice we can also draw on the technical skills of our colleagues to help establish the root cause of your problems and find creative solutions which will protect your interests and keep everyone involved with the built asset as safe as possible.
